Alienware, a division of Dell for the production of gaming PCs and laptops, said that it will release its Steam Machine in September this year. The announcement was made at the Valve Steam Dev Days conference for developers. The company is one of the first lucky ones selected by Valve to manufacture gaming machines running the Linux-based SteamOS operating system.
Alienware is not in a hurry to disclose prices and the internal specification of the Steam Machine, but notes that the model, code-named X51, will offer "unsurpassed design." The car body will be 8 inches (20.3 cm) long and 3 inches (7.6 cm) high. The performance of Alienware Steam Machine will meet the Intel processor, while the graphic component (1080p) will take on the Nvidia GPU.
According to the manufacturer, a specially designed case provides optimal control of heat generation and sound absorption. After all, nothing should distract a gamer from the game.
Essentially, Alienware's “steam engine” is not going to lag behind the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gaming consoles in terms of hardware. The X51 will ship with a Valve Steam Controller. By the way, the latter will undergo small changes. The prototype, shown in the framework of Steam Dev Days, has no touch screen in the center, and the buttons surrounding it are arranged in diamonds. The new design makes it look like a controller for the Xbox console. Thus, we still have to see the final version of the Valve game controller.

The list of Valve's partners in terms of the Steam Machine was announced at a consumer electronics show held recently in Las Vegas. In addition to Alienware, it includes Falcon Northwest, iBuyPower, CyberPowerPC, Origin PC, Gigabyte, Materiel.net, Webhallen, Alternate, Next, Zotac and Scan Computers.
