It became known that the Sony Pictures studio is preparing for the filming of a film about the war between two well-known companies Sega and Nintendo.
In Russia, the beginning of the 90s Nintendo game consoles, or rather, their Chinese and Taiwanese clones, were sold at almost every corner. Then, they were modestly replaced by a 16-bit Sega Mega Drive, and people gradually began to switch to a new generation of video games with improved graphics and gaming capabilities. It never occurred to anyone that the megadrive had a worthy alternative from Nintendo, surpassing it in almost all respects. The 16-bit Super Nintendo Entertainment System prefix was too expensive and that is why it did not take root in the domestic market, unconditionally giving way to Sega consoles.
And in North America there was no unequivocal opinion on this, since both companies were fighting for the consumer market, trying to get ahead in the cantilever race. Sega launched the first ever console war against Nintendo. It was then that a series of aggressive commercials for the Sega Genesis set-top box appeared (that’s the name for the Mega Drive in the USA), which sneered at the competitors: Genesis Does What Nintendon't (“Genesis knows what Nintendo is not capable of” English) But this was not the end of the matter, because the war only gained momentum.

That's about these hostilities and the film will be shot. But first, in August 2014, this book will be released by the British writer Blake Harris, according to which this motion picture will be shot. It should be noted that the popular comedian Seth Rogen (“The Green Hornet”, “Super Peppers”, “Kung Fu Panda”) and his friend Evan Goldberg (“A Little Pregnant”, “Super Peppers”) direct the film, so it should least fun.

What's most interesting about this story: Sony took part in the console wars of the second and third wave, when it completely ousted Sega with the Dreamcast prefix from the market, and also jeopardized the success of Nintendo with Game Cube and Microsoft with the first Xbox.
