It is finished: Sony showed the PlayStation 4

When Sony announced its new PlayStation 4 console in February of this year, many were embarrassed by the fact that the console itself was not shown, but they only shared some details about its hardware, updated interface and ... joystick. Now you can safely breathe out: at the international exhibition of electronic entertainment (E3), Sony introduced the final design of the new PlayStation 4.

As you can see in the photos, the PlayStation 4 has received a minimalist design that combines matte and glossy plastic. We will not argue that the company spied on this idea from the Xbox One (it was shown before), but it’s hard not to notice the similarity. Nevertheless, it will be gratifying to know that, like the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation 3, the new PS4 can be installed both horizontally and vertically, unlike the Xbox One, which is clearly designed only for horizontal positioning.

Sony spoke about most of the technical features of the new console at the beginning of this year. Inside the console, there is an AMD chip that uses eight Jaguar cores that work in tandem with the Radeon GPU. The system is equipped with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory, 6x Blu-ray drive and built-in hard disk.

The new DualShock 4 controller with a touch screen and the Share button, which allows you to quickly share game frames through various online services, will be in charge of managing games. In addition, the management of the console is proposed to use the periphery of the PlayStation 4 Eye, equipped with two cameras and a bunch of four microphones.

There are no restrictions on used PlayStation 4 games, no requirement to check online connections every 24 hours.

One last thing: the price of the new generation PlayStation 4 game console will be $ 399/399 euro / 349 British pounds.
