The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo is awaited with reverence by the many millions of players around the globe. After all, this event becomes the epicenter of events, as a result of which the fate of many game titles is decided. But this year has become special. Indeed, in the framework of E3 2013, two new-generation game consoles were announced - the PlayStation 4 from Sony and Xbox One from Microsoft. Both consoles open up tremendous opportunities for game developers so that they can bring us a truly unique and new gaming experience. At the current E3 exhibition, many developers presented their new games, which will appear either in the very near future, or together with the release of new consoles from Sony and Microsoft. Therefore, we propose to get acquainted with a selection of the ten most anticipated game titles that will appear on the consoles of the new generation.

10. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3

Release Date: Unknown

The previous games of the Metal Gear Solid series (with the exception of various spin-offs) have always defined their love for consoles and always stood out against the general background. "The Phantom Pain" in this case does not seem to be an exception.

While most other game titles are essentially a set of closed missions, this game will offer the open world of Afghanistan in Soviet times and gameplay similar to Red Dead Redemption with elements of stealth. The environment in the new game will become more realistic, and the gameplay will be directly affected by various weather conditions and the change of the time of day. As in the case of the previous games in the series, Hideo Kojima deals with the plot. The Metal Gear Solid series, as we mentioned above, always stood out from the rest in terms of gameplay and visual style, so gamers around the world can expect the same revelation from the new part.

9. Quantum Break

Platform: Xbox One

Release Date: 2014

Exclusive for the Xbox One console. Microsoft has already managed to hold two presentations of this project, but we still know little about this shooter tied to time manipulation. One thing that can be said with certainty now is that the game will be a kind of addition to a television series, the development of which will directly depend on the decisions of the players themselves, made in the game. Gradually going through the history of the game, gamers will have the opportunity to unlock new episodes of the series, but only those that will directly reflect their earlier choice.
The development is engaged in the studio Remedy Entertainment - the very guys who made amazing Max Payne and Alan Wake, so the hope that the new game will be successful, there is almost no doubt.

8. Final Fantasy XV

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4

Release Date: Unknown

The company Square Enix has always tried to show what consoles are capable of thanks to its Final Fantasy series. And this time the company was going to demonstrate the capabilities of the new Xbox One and Playstation 4 on the example of Final Fantasy XV.

The new game will offer more action scenes and unfold in a fantasy version of our modern world. Development of Final Fantasy XV has been going on for quite some time. The game was originally called Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but the developers decided to freeze the project until the console can provide the level of graphics they need. And this very moment has come. Square Enix polished the visual effects to shine and demonstrated it in a strikingly beautiful tech demo that left no one indifferent at the last E3 show.

7. The Crew

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC

Release date: the beginning of 2014

When you first look at The Crew, it may seem like a normal racing game. But you understand that Ubisoft, the publisher of the game, is not counting on such an opinion. Instead of making races with a specific set of tracks, the company decided to put them online, and use the most visible and main roads and highways of the entire United States of America as a racing bridgehead. Off-road fights are also promised.

The basic principle of the game is very similar to online games, like the same World of Warcraft, but only with machines as your game characters. Game mechanics allows you to ride across the whole continent, alone or in company with your friends. In the end, it is the invisible integration of the single and multiplayer parts that makes this game stand out against other famous rivals, such as Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo.

6. Destiny

Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3

Release Date: 2014

Destiny - the first original project of Bungie since the release of Halo back in 2001 - promises to be one of the most successful gaming franchises in history. If you still have doubts that people from Bungie are capable of this, just watch the gameplay video above.

The new game combines the genre of first-person shooter with a powerful integration of a multiplayer company. Players will be offered the task of destroying monsters with the most high-tech weapons and abilities, collecting the loot dropped from them, developing various branches of talents and meeting other players in the gigantic world of Destiny. But it is better here that all game events will develop against the background of the post-apocalyptic world.

5. Knack

Platform: PS4

Release Date: November 2014

Exclusive PlayStation 4. And the first game, which was shown in the first announcement of this gaming console. Bright adventure action, reminiscent of Katamari Damacy. Players will be offered control of a creature named Knack, which is able to literally absorb objects of the surrounding world and thereby grow to the size of, say, buildings, and then bring down all its power on enemies. In addition, the creature can take various forms and open up new abilities, depending on what objects it “absorbs”. The basic mechanics of the game are really suitable for consoles, and since its game director Marc Cernie is also the lead designer of the PlayStation 4, the knack for PS4 is not exclusive.

4. Titanfall

Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC

Release Date: Spring 2014

The first serious game studio Respawn Entertainment, founded by former key developers of the original series of Call of Duty, and therefore full of promise, which, judging by the presentation made by Microsoft at its press conference, it will justify.

"Sai-Fi" setting. Players will assume the role of a soldier who will gain access to an arsenal of futuristic weapons and gadgets, including, among other things, jet packs and invisibility cloaks. But the main faces of the game will be the very "Titans" - giant armed bellows, which the player can control, causing the battlefield.

The developers showed a small demo version of the multiplayer part of the game, which, to be honest, somehow reminded of Call of Duty, but with even more explosions, actions and diversity. Knowing that the former fathers of Call of Duty are behind this game, it is possible to say with confidence that the game will win popularity among fans of online shooters.

3. Watch Dogs

Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC

Release Date: November 19, 2013

Watch Dogs from Ubisoft began to show the future of the gaming industry during last year’s E3 show. But even a year later, the hype around her does not subside.

In the role of a hacker, in a city in which virtually every device is connected to the Net, players will be offered incredible freedom of action to determine the target, its detection and the extraction of information. At the Sony press conference, a demo version of the game was shown, in which the protagonist Aiden Pearce neatly sneaks past security cameras and hacks electronic items to avoid meeting with the police. Without a doubt, this game will become very popular not only among fans of fiction and cyberpunk, but also those who love stealth.

In addition, it promises multiplayer, in which players from one city will be able to wade to another city (to a friend) in order to oppose the system together. With Watch Dogs we are waiting for a truly unique gameplay.

2. Project Spark

Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 8

Release Date: Unknown

Essentially, Ixbox's answer to LittleBigPlanet. Project Spark will offer players themselves to create their own games with a deep level of customization capabilities. As the Microsoft Studios demonstration showed, the game will support voice control, make friends with Kinect and even SmartGlass on the tablet, allowing you to create your own levels, populate them with enemies, all sorts of bonuses, checkpoints and everything else that comes to your mind. Interestingly, in some tricky way, you can even improve the artificial intelligence of any object on the map. For example, at a press conference, the developers demonstrated this by adding pet habits to an ordinary stone, and the latter constantly dragged after the character.

And this is just the basic mechanics. With a bit of free time and fantasy, you can create any type of game that you can imagine - from fantasy RPG to regular card game. And if you create something yourself will be lazy, the player will have access to the countless number of worlds created by other players.

1. Tom Clancy's The Division

Platforms: Xbox One, PS4

Release Date: 2014

Ubisoft knows how to surprise us. First Assassin's Creed, then Watch Dogs, now it's time for a new gaming title under the post "Tom Clancy's". This is a new third-person shooter with RPG elements - The Division. The Division players will enter the role of high-class special forces, designed to bring order to the affected pandemic New York. But this is not the most interesting feature of this game. The fact is that exploring the open world of the city, players in addition to the usual NPC will be able to meet other real players: in this case, the choice between “shooting” or “making new friends by exchanging various items” will directly depend on the degree of marginality of the parties.

But that's not all. Representatives of Ubisoft showed the possibility of taking part in the game through the tablets. In this case, the player will be allowed to control the unmanned military drone. Very convenient, I must say. Especially when you do not have direct access to your console at one time or another, and you want to play and help your teammates.

The official release of Tom Clancy's The Division promise only on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. But there are already rumors on the Web that they are also developing a version for the PC.

And this is just the beginning.

The game titles described above are only the smallest part of what game developers are preparing for us. I am sure that no less loud announcements are waiting for us by the end of the year. But now it is becoming clear how it will be possible to take a few first months after the release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
