The other day, Sony, in addition to the new PlayStation Vita TV multimedia console, unveiled an updated model of its PlayStation Vita 2000 portable console, which it plans to launch for sale in October of this year. Despite the fact that the updated version offers a more capacious battery, 1 GB of RAM, many additional colors of the case and much more, it has one major drawback - its new screen.

Apparently, having decided to save on components, the Japanese giant refused to use the OLED screen, replacing it with a conventional LCD LED display. As many feared, this ultimately significantly reduced the quality of the image displayed on the new screen. And this is evidenced by photos taken by the owner of the “old” version of the PlayStation Vita, which he filmed next to the updated model.

Even Drake felt bad, realizing that the screen of the new Vita became worse.

Looking at these photos, everything will become clear without words: the colors and brightness of the OLED version of Vita are much juicier than those of the new model. The cost of the "new" PlayStation Vita will be lower than the original version and will be $ 190 at the start.

The true reasons for abandoning the OLED display remain unknown. However, it seems to us that in this way Sony wants to lower the price as much as possible, in order to make potential PlayStation 4 buyers more interested in buying a portable console. PlayStation 4, in turn, we recall, supports synchronization with Vita.
