China lifts ban on the sale of game consoles

Earlier this year, the web flashed information that China is going to lift a 13-year ban on the sale of any game consoles in the territory under its control. So, to the delight of the most populated country in the world, the Chinese government finally decided to lift this ban. This was announced by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, stating that companies will soon be allowed to sell game consoles throughout China.

However, the State Council immediately rushed to add that each console would have to be tested and approved by the Ministry of Culture of this country, however, without specifying what criteria the set-top boxes must meet in order to get to the Chinese electronic entertainment market.

In general, in the near future, consoles from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony should rush to the market of this country. For all three companies, this is a great opportunity to master the new and, perhaps, the world's largest market for electronic products, and for the Chinese themselves - to get the official consoles Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and, who knows, it is quite possible new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 .

In fairness it should be noted that despite the ban, game consoles in China are already sold. For all 13 years that the law is valid. They are just sold informally and on the black market.
