As you all know, every year at the beginning of the summer there is a significant event for every lover of video games. We are talking about the E3 game exhibition (Electronic Entertainment Expo), in which new games are announced, the continuation of already sensational hits, the price cuts for existing game consoles, and the announcement of new ones. So, what should we expect from E3 this year, which will be held from 10 to 12 June.
During these three days we will have to see and hear a lot of interesting things from leading gaming publishers and holders of platforms like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. The event will be attended by 169 video game developers from around the world, including both tiny indie studios and studio giants like Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, and so on.
But, undoubtedly, the focus will be focused only on two speeches. Of course, I'm talking about conferences Sony and Microsoft. Indeed, within the framework of this E3, we will finally be shown a lot of truly next-gen games. Yes, we have already seen Crytek's Ryse: Son of Rome with its high-quality graphics and inFAMOUS: Second Son with its stunning effects and an open world, but people expect something new from the upcoming exhibition. Will the main competitors of the console market be able to surprise their consumers?
How can Microsoft surprise us?
First of all, Microsoft will focus on its main franchise - Halo. It is already known that in the active development is the fifth full-scale part of the series for the Xbox One console, as well as a remake of the game Halo 2, which was released on the very first Xbox. In addition, we can show the first footage from the series based on Halo, the producer of which is Steven Spielberg, and we can also learn more about another film production, to which director Ridley Scott is directly related.
We are definitely waiting for new information about the already announced, but not really shown projects for the Xbox One. For example, many people still do not quite understand what the game Quantum Break from the studio Remedy Entertainment, combining a third-person shooter and a series of several episodes, which the player can influence the events, is. It will also be curious to take a look at Insomniac Games' Sunset Overdrive shooter and at Fable Legends from Lionhead Studios.
The surprise of the exhibition from Microsoft can be attributed to the rumor that they will show us the exclusive for Xbox One seventh part of Resident Evil. Within the program there will be no television and other functions that are not particularly interesting to gamers. How will Sony make us happy?
From Sony, many are waiting for a whole heap of new announcements. In addition to the long-awaited Uncharted 4, the Japanese certainly have something to show their fans. We will finally see even more gameplay from the final version of the Victorian action movie The Order: 1886, footage from the final DriveClub, which was moved from last fall to this fall, and also learn a lot about the already announced projects. And yet, what will they show us from the new IP?
Of course, everyone is waiting for Sony to become legendary even before its release The Last Guardian game, which they promised to release on the PlayStation 3, but have not been released. The game is most likely reworked from scratch for the new PlayStation 4 console and should show the already updated version very soon. According to Shuhei Yoshida, Sony is waiting for the most appropriate moment to re-introduce the game to the public.
Not so long ago, mysterious screenshots from an as yet unannounced project codenamed Project Beast, which is very similar to the Dark Souls series, flowed into the network. Most likely, Sony is developing this game in conjunction with the studio From Software, which has already released the exclusive Demon's Souls for PS3. Many are already burning with impatience to learn the whole truth about this game.
Also, many hope that Sony will begin to resurrect a long-forgotten series like Siphon Filter. Bend Studio is currently working on an unannounced project, which may well be related to this franchise. How can Nintendo stand out from the competition?
The Japanese company Nintendo is not doing very well. Yes, the Nintendo 3DS pocket console is selling like hotcakes, but the stationary Wii U prefix has not gained much popularity, which is why the company has suffered losses for the second year in a row. Developers are much more interested in working with technically more powerful PS4 and Xbox One, rather than with an albeit unusual, but very weak Nintendo console, which seems to be out of the ordinary logical progress in the video games of hardware power.
For the second year in a row, Nintendo has been organizing not quite traditional conferences as part of E3, as if experimenting with the organization of events. Last year, the E3 broadcast viewers were simply shown another release of the Nintendo Direct video podcast, in which the company’s president, Satoru Iwata, told everyone about the new games, and also showed the video and gameplay of them. This year, Nintendo plans to organize a mysterious Nintendo Digital Event program, but what it will represent itself - as yet no one assumes.
From Nintendo, of course, everyone is waiting for only one thing: new games for the famous franchises of the company. For example, the release of the new part of The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U could well spur sales consoles around the world. Fans are also awaiting the announcement of the next part of the Metroid series with the brave Samus Aran in the lead role. Of course, no one doubts that we will be shown a LOT of new games about Mario - after all, he has been the company's central franchise for more than 25 years.
Not so long ago, a rumor ran through the Internet that Nintendo plans to announce a completely new game console, which should replace the not very successful Wii U, but company representatives have officially denied this rumor and made it clear that no one is going to throw a Wii U. Most likely, the price reduction for the Nintendo Wii U will be announced by $ 50 closer to the end of 2014.

Multiplatform projects
In addition to exclusive projects for the three main consoles, we are waiting for numerous announcements from studios, who prefer to release games for several platforms at once. We are sure to be shown the fourth Mass Effect, the new part of Need for Speed, the new gameplay of the third Dragon Age, and we will hear the release date of Mirrors Edge 2. It is also obvious that we will see footage from the next Medal of Honor and several sports simulators (Madden, UFC, FIFA, NHL, etc.), have become the hallmark of the company. You can expect anything from Ubisoft, as it has repeatedly surprised the public as part of its E3 conferences. The fact that the internal studios of Ubisoft around the world are currently developing projects for The Division, The Crew and several new games in the universe of Assassins Creed - no one doubts. But this is what the French will show us this time - no one knows. Of course, many are waiting for the long-awaited announcement of the game Beyond Good and Evil 2 from game designer Michel Ansel, because he repeatedly said that he would release his long-term long-term construction only when new-generation consoles appeared on the market. It may well be that this game will also be shown to us during the presentation.
The new game in the universe of Deus Ex, Just Cause 3 and the new part of the Tomb Raider series can be announced as part of this E3. A lot of rumors hovering around the announcement of Fallout 4, which should have been shown to the public in December last year, but then suddenly the presentation was canceled. The new part of the Devil May Cry series also continually pops up in various documents, so we can hope for its early announcement. And yes, it may very well be that we will be announced the release of GTA V for PC and consoles of a new generation.
