PC users will be able to purchase a Kinect 2.0 sensor starting July 15

After the next update of the official Microsoft Store, it became known that the Kinect 2.0 sensor will be available for purchase for users of personal computers on July 15.

What is a little surprising is the price of the device. We know perfectly well that the bundle of the Xbox One game console, which includes the updated Kinect, costs $ 499. And if you choose an alternative kit without a sensor - its price will be $ 399. It turns out that Kinect for the owners of the console costs $ 100. But with PC users, the story is completely different.

Microsoft will include a special adapter for connecting the device to a personal computer in the Kinect 2.0 package. Apparently, precisely because of this, the price of the sensor for PC users has grown to $ 199.

Currently Kinect 2.0 is already available. preorder in the official American online store of the corporation. No hints of this have been found in the Russian online store; most likely, Kinect will be available for Russian PC users only after the official launch of Xbox One in our country, and this will happen no earlier than September of this year.

It should be borne in mind that Kinect for PC is sold solely so that enthusiastic programmers can write a new software for it. That is, the first buyers will face the complete absence of any applications or games for this sensor. Microsoft claims that it will provide owners of Kinect 2.0 with a special SDK, with the help of which they will be able to sharpen the work of their applications and games under control with the help of movements. This SDK supports the most popular programming languages ​​and environments, such as C ++, C #, VB.Net, Cx, and JavaScript.

We remind you that earlier this year, Microsoft went to meet those users who complained about the lack of a cheaper configuration of the Xbox One, and released a bundle, from which Kinect 2.0 was excluded.
