Japan is a very unusual country. All Japanese people read local comics polls, watch anime, and almost every one of them enjoys video games. And the main game exhibition of the Land of the Rising Sun is the annual September Tokyo Game Show.
This year, many were eagerly awaiting this exhibition, since within its framework there should have been shown rather specific games for consoles of the new generation. And do not be surprised that the Japanese are crazy about the colorful, lurid video games about how schoolgirls fight against evil - so they have got it. Also, the Japanese are very fond of the genres JRPG, Tactical RPG and, of course, the giant human-like fighting robots. Let's see what Japanese video game developers have shown this year to viewers.
The first game play video of the Dragon Quest Heroes project, exclusive to the PlayStation consoles, shows off massive battles of the main characters with hundreds of monsters and giant bosses. To those who do not know, I explain: this game is a mixture of two popular game series in Japan - the role-playing Dragon Quest and the action game Dynasty Warriors. Hence the cartoonish style of the artist Akira Toriyama, and the impressive battles with the troops of the opponents. The game will be released in 2015.

The Square Enix company has delivered a whole heap of curious trailers. First of all, the audience was interested in the game play video remake of Final Fantasy Type-0, a game that came out more than three years ago for the PSP pocket console, but was never translated from Japanese into English. The management of the publishing house decided to improve the graphics, the resolution of the project, remake game models and textures, and then release a prettier game on the new PS4 and Xbox One consoles. The game will be on sale March 17 in the United States and March 19 in Europe, including in Russia. Everyone who bought the game will get access to the exclusive demo of the protracted game Final Fantasy XV, which we will discuss below.

Speaking of Final Fantasy XV, formerly known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII: its development has been going on for more than 8 years. The developers have demonstrated to the public a new trailer for the game, which has become pretty prettier in recent years, because initially it had to be released on the PS3 console, but now its visual part has been reworked to fit a new generation of console. The creator of the game, Tetsuya Nomura, was very tired of many years of development and gave up his place of director to another game designer, Hajime Tabate, who was previously noted for Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, the aforementioned Type-0 and The 3rd Birthday. Nomura himself will concentrate on developing his next project - Kingdom Hearts 3.

Not bypassed by the publisher Square Enix and the Sony PlayStation Vita pocket console. For it will be released a special edition of the game Final Fantasy Agito +, which previously came out for mobile platforms iOS and Android. The game will be distributed according to the free-2-play scheme, but everyone will be able to purchase the game also on the cartridge, complete with a lot of nice game bonuses, which in the case of the f2p version would have to be bought for money.

The new trailer received the game Bloodborne from the creators of Demons Souls and Dark Souls from the studio From Software. They are developing the game together with Sony and its Japan Studio, so there’s no doubt about the final product. The game will appear on store shelves in the US and Europe on February 6, 2015.

Hideo Kojima showed the public a new trailer for his protracted Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, as well as a rather long piece of game play from an almost completed game.

Kojima also showed fans a chic concept trailer for the next part of the Silent Hill series, which will be called Silent Hills, and its Japanese game designer is developing together with director Guillermo Del Toro. Let me remind you that the protagonist of the game will be played by actor Norman Reedus, known from the movies “Slum Saints” and the TV series “Walking Dead”.

The company Capcom showed a new trailer for its role-playing action Deep Down, which will be released exclusively for the PS4. The release date of the game, however, was not named.

The Phantasy Star Nova trailer for the PS Vita pocket console was shown.

As well as the trailer and gameplay of the new hand-drawn fighting game of the Guilty Gear series, which many fans of the genre waited for.

Fans of the game series Yakuza will be happy to see the trailer for the new part called Yakuza Zero. The game will unfold in the 80s, and the main character will remain the same stern Kazuma Kiryu. The game will be released in the spring of 2015 for the PS3 and PS4 consoles.

Nintendo and the studio Koei Tecmo showed the public another trailer for their new horror film Fatal Frame 5, which is due to be released in Japan exclusively for the Wii U already on September 27 of this year. About an exit in the west and in Europe while it is not known.

We will try to keep you updated on news from this exhibition, which will last a couple of days. Surely there will be interesting announcements and demonstration of the gameplay awaited by many games from Japanese studios.
