EA has announced a new subscription service for their games.

Компания EA анонсировала новый сервис подписок на свои игры

EA gamers are familiar to all gamers without exception. It is this company that produces such famous series as Battlefield, Medal of Honor, Mass Effect, FIFA, Sims, and many, many others. It seems that the company management has decided that it is time to plant their users on a monthly paid subscription.

Personally, I hate digital copies of games. This is probably due to the fact that I grew up at a time when players appreciated brand new cartridges in branded packages and the presence of a color booklet that smells delicious with fresh printing ink. So far I have been collecting a collection of video games on physical media. But you can't argue with progress: the games are gradually moving from the real world to the world of remote servers. A large service Steam generally offers players only digital storage for their collections. Sony and its PlayStation Now service also plan to introduce a paid subscription for temporary access to gaming updates.

An interesting fact is that only the owners of the Xbox One gaming console will be able to get a paid subscription to access the games of the EA company for the time being. The cost of such a subscription will be $ 5 per month or $ 30 per year. The first-time subscription holders will have the opportunity to download four games from the publisher for free. The list includes FIFA 14, Madden 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4. As a bonus, subscribers will receive a 10% discount on all other EA games, as well as on paid add-ons for them.

This service is called EA Access and, possibly, access to it over time will also be received by owners of PlayStation gaming consoles and PC users. The EA management promises users of the new service an early trial access to the new games of the company five days before they officially go on sale. The bonus is definitely nice.

It is not entirely clear yet when the publisher will add new titles to the existing four games. But sooner or later it will happen, as people are unlikely to want to pay for the same thing year after year. If you think about it - the logic in the actions of EA is definitely there. After all, buying games separately will cost the user more than $ 100, while annual access to them within EA Access will cost three times less. Another thing is that in the first case, a person will be able to put the games on his shelf, and in the second, when the subscription ends, the games will be taken away from him. And what do you, our dear readers, think about such paid access to games?
