Samsung TVs will acquire support for PlayStation Now in 2015

Sony officially confirmed that its cloud-based PlayStation Now service will appear on the Samsung Smart TV platform in the first half of 2015.

Recall that PlayStation Now allows you to remotely run any games from the PlayStation family of consoles on almost any device, including mobile gadgets, smart TVs and computers. The open beta testing of the service was successfully completed this summer.

To enjoy video games, owners of Samsung TVs will have to purchase an additional DualShock 4 game controller.

"Since the day when we first introduced the concept of PlayStation Now to the public in 2014, we have always set ourselves the goal of opening the world of PlayStation to all comers. They will be able to enjoy our games with the devices that are used every day. Partnership with Samsung is a very important step towards realizing our dream. This way we will be able to access an even larger audience of consumers who do not have PlayStation gaming consoles at home, "said Masayasu Ito, one of Sony Computer Entertainment executives, during an official press statement.

At the moment the PlayStation Now service catalog includes more than 150 games for the PlayStation 3 console, including such hits as God of War, InFamous, Killzone, Ratchet & Clank, Twisted Metal and many others. In the future, the library of games will expand, and users of the service will be able to play games for the PS1, PS2, PS4, PSP and PS Vita platforms.

Games will be provided to users on a paid subscription basis, that is, a person can pay access to the service for a certain period and play games without restrictions, or pay for each game separately, as if he were renting it.
