A new Sony gaming console can be congratulated on the first small anniversary. Exactly one year ago, on November, 15th, the first American lucky people could buy themselves this prefix. In Russia, the console appeared a little later - on November 29.
Since the very beginning of its life cycle, the PlayStation 4 console has proved its best. Numerous mistakes of the main market competitor in the face of Microsoft with their Xbox One console have allowed the Japanese corporation Sony without any hindrances to capture the hearts and minds of gamers around the world.
To date, over 13,500,000 PlayStation 4 consoles have been shipped to stores around the world. Unofficial sources say that most of them, which are just over 13 million, have already been sold, as this product is almost not on the shelves. Microsoft has 10,000,000 shipped to Xbox One stores, but to date only 6.7 million of them have been sold. It turns out that Sony still bypasses the competitor in sales by about 100%. Recall that Microsoft has already entered the previously closed market of China, and Sony only plans its debut in this country at the beginning of next year.
Another good news for Sony's management was the success of the PlayStation Plus service. Since the release of PS4, the number of users who subscribed to this paid service has increased to 7,900,000. In total, 56 000 000 unique users are registered on the PlayStation Network. Here it should be emphasized that it is about active users who periodically log into the network under their accounts and play games. Sony does not take into account those accounts that no one uses.
A little more fascinating statistics about the PlayStation 4. Players more than 530 000 000 times clicked on the Share button on the gamepad of this console, that is, the function of creating screenshots and recording the game video, they liked very much. In total, players spent more than 1,000,000,000 hours playing games for the PS4. The most active prefix is bought by US residents, and the most successful month in terms of sales was September of this year. But there is still a "black Friday" ahead, especially for which Sony marketers have prepared several attractive offers. The prefix will be sold at a reduced price complete with popular and new games, which, no doubt, will spur sales even more.
PlayStation 4 has already beaten several records. For example, it became the fastest-selling console in the PlayStation family, overtaking even incredibly popular in its time PS2. PlayStation 4 on the speed of sales is already closely matched to the console Nintendo Wii, which today is the record holder in this area.
Well, we congratulate Sony with such impressive successes and wish them only to improve the quality of their products and services provided to users, and the only thing that does not suit many players is the instability of the PSN network in the last couple of months.
