Valve presented the final design of its game controller

Valve is very much loved by gamers around the world. Still, it was this company in its time that the PC games industry did not die, making them accessible to everyone thanks to its Steam service. Now the engineers of the company are focused on their new development: the game computers Steam Machines and special game controllers for them. We have already told you about these gamepads several times, but finally, Valve is ready to show us the final appearance of Steam Controller in the official video.

As in the first revisions, the controller includes two round trackpads, which should replace a computer mouse so dear to the heart of any PC gamer. One of the trackpads is equipped with a D-Pad function, that is, it can be pressed like a classic cross. There is also a more familiar analogue handle, similar to the one used in the controller for the PlayStation 4.

The main buttons moved to the Steam Controller directly from the gamepad for Xbox game consoles. This becomes clear when you see the colored letters A, B, X, Y. This is done because many PC games officially support Microsoft controllers, so their interface is designed for this arrangement of buttons. On the top and back of the controller are three pairs of flip-flops: two pairs - classic, as on the game consoles game consoles, and the third - something like the petals switch gears with game steering wheels.

In the video below, you'll notice one interesting feature of the new gamepad. Namely - how the text input was implemented. You can print text with two fingers at the same time. I've seen a lot of different input systems with gamepads in my time, but I've never seen such a system before. Let's see how it will be convenient in the end.
