Nintendo began the year 2015 with the release of the incredibly beautiful and interesting game Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for the Wii U game console. If you do not have enough bright sensations and innovations in those games that you are treated to by the largest game publishers of the world, you need to read this review in a compulsory order.

Captain Toad (in the Japanese version of Captain Kinopio) is a mushroom-like character of Super Mario Galaxy for Nintendo Wii, which was released in 2007. In 2013, Toad reappeared in one of the games about the Italian plumber Super Mario 3D World for Wii U. In this game he was the protagonist of special levels of puzzles in which he needed to collect stars scattered at a cleverly designed level full of dangers and riddles. This part of the game was so popular with users that Nintendo decided to make a full game about this character.

The Japanese company took a little more than a year to realize what was planned and offer the players full adventures of Captain Toad. The new game consists of 64 unique levels of puzzles, as well as 18 bonus levels that will be available to you after passing the main game.

Each level represents a carefully constructed 3D environment full of different mechanisms, secret rooms, treasures and enemies. Captain Toad is very serious and purposeful. He dreams, like the adventurer Indiana Jones, to discover untold treasures, and nothing can stand in his way to the cherished goal. In the adventures of Captain Toad from time to time helps his friend - Toadette. His backpack is full of provisions, so he is not able to make jumps, like Mario, and thus deal with enemies. Because of this, Toad has to be much more cunning and inventive than his colleague in the shop. In a collision with the enemy, the Toad, like Mario, diminishes in size. Repeated collision means that you have to start the level from the very beginning, so as quickly as possible, look for the superfug, so that the Toad again becomes a normal size.

The main goal for each level is the discovery and collection of three giant diamonds that can be hidden so well that it takes a long time to search for them. To successfully complete the level, you will need to get to the sparkling star, which we already know from the games about the mustachioed plumber. Despite the fact that at first glance, all this seems a fairly simple task - in fact, everything is not so easy. On the head of Captain Toad, a bright miner's flashlight, the light of which allows you to find objects invisible to the naked eye like gold coins. Max carefully examine each level for hidden bonuses.

The gameplay is pretty straightforward, but it's genius and fascinating. Since you are holding a Wii U game controller with a large screen, you can use it for various in-game moments. For example, in those moments when the main character should aim at enemies from the gun, you can aim precisely because of the controller. Also, the touch screen controller allows you to touch various objects on the screen to activate them. You can use your fingers to move giant blocks or open valves, activating mechanisms, or simply poking at enemies that will be frightened and freeze in place for a while. In certain moments of the game you can even lightly blow into the microphone of the controller, which will also directly affect the virtual world.

The main control is in two analog sticks, one of which controls the Toad itself, and the second allows you to rotate the camera around the level to detect all the secrets hidden from your eyes. Interaction with the outside world for the Toad, as a rule, is limited to a single button "A" on the gamepad. With the help of this button, he can pull out the turnips from the ground, which can be launched into enemies. Also in the ground can be hidden very important objects such as a pickaxe, with which the Toad can destroy the strong brick walls and reach especially rare treasures.

In some levels, you will have to experience a split personality, when the Toad, who swallows the magic cherry, will have a twin brother, and you will have to control two characters at once that move symmetrically around the screen. Very unusual sensations, it should be noted. From the series of games about Mario, this project inherited the need to collect gold coins. 100 coins - one life in the piggy bank of your character. You will find at the level of a gold mushroom - it's just 50 coins, but finding it is not so easy. Sometimes it is buried in the sand and you, while listening to the vibrations of your controller, will need to find it as a true sapper.

Many levels will require you to pass multiple times so that you can reveal all their secrets and collect all the treasures, so that the language does not turn to call the game too short. After the first pass of the level, you are shown an additional condition that must be met so that the level is considered to be passed by 100%. This may be a requirement that during the passage you do not notice any enemy, or the need to collect a certain number of coins. The game will offer you a lot of similar tasks, so you will not have to miss.

The complexity of the game varies from "even a child can cope with" to "rip out all your hair and break the gamepad", and it's just wonderful. After all, the game can be played with your children, who will ask you to help them go through the most difficult moments. Personally, I will necessarily pereproydu game even at least once a few years later, along with his daughter, who is still too young to play games.

But do not be afraid of my words about the complexity of the game! In case you are too long to pass any level, the game meets you and gives captain Toad a mushroom of invincibility, thanks to which the enemies are not afraid of him, which allows the main character to concentrate on finding treasures.

It is necessary to note the incredible beauty of the game. Game design Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is close to ideal. Given that the Nintendo Wii U is a rather weak console compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, developers have to put a lot of effort in order to deliver a stunning image to your screen. And in this case they coped with the task just to cheer. The game looks bright, juicy, the characters are adorable, and the levels are amazed by the variety and thoroughness of the work.

During the game, the Toad is expected to meet with dangerous bosses, each of which requires a special approach to defeat him. You will surely be impressed by these unusual levels, when you need all your skill and ingenuity. And do not worry: when you run out of life, you will be offered a small mini-game, after which you will be given another chance to defeat the evil.

The company Nintendo is famous for bringing its every game almost to the ideal state. No bugs, no roughness - only an impeccable gameplay and the quality of every smallest detail. Game Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was no exception to the rules. This is an exemplary project for fans of non-trivial puzzles and just very beautiful games. Despite the characters performed in children's style, this game will be able to challenge even very experienced adult players, and even play with children in such a complete pleasure. If you are the lucky owner of the Nintendo Wii U gaming console, you should definitely purchase this game. I put the game 10 points out of 10 , because I could not find any minus in this project, and this happens infrequently.
