Already very soon, namely on November 12, 2015, the owners of the Xbox One game console will be able to enjoy all the benefits of backwards compatibility with games for the Xbox 360, as well as a completely new interface that will become more convenient, efficient and concise. The launch date for the new version of the interface and backward compatibility was officially announced by the head of the Xbox Live division in his Twitter account.
Remembering my first acquaintance with the Xbox One console, I involuntarily shiver. The interface of the console was so cumbersome and unobvious that you could walk for quite a long time on all sorts of menus before you stumble upon the function you need. Some features of the menu were completely unclear to me, and with some I could not figure it out even with the help of Microsoft's official instructions and long hours of experiments. For example, I never learned to take screenshots in games and throw them on an external media or my One Drive account, although I did everything according to the instructions on the official Xbox website. The new interface looks promising, although there are still some drawbacks.
Thanks to the program Xbox One Preview, I have been using my console for some time with the help of a new interface. Well, I can tell you about it, indeed, it has become more understandable and convenient. Now all the key menu items are placed in the vertical menu on the left side of the screen. When you move the cursor to this menu, it expands to a third of the screen, allowing you to read personal messages, system alerts, view your friends lists and much more. The fact that now everything important is collected in one place, personally makes me very happy. Navigation through the menu has become vertical, not horizontal, as before. That is, each screen now scrolls up and down, and the transition between them is carried out, as before, bumpers LB and RB.

As for backward compatibility, it will support only those games that Microsoft engineers and programmers adapt for their emulator. Yes, it's the emulator, since the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles are based on completely different architectures, so you can not run the game from the previous console on a new little blood. The list of games supported by the emulator is constantly growing, but some games, for example those for which it will be necessary to pay numerous licenses with their owners, will not be included in this list in the near future. This list includes games of the Test Drive Unlimited series and some others.
In order to run the game from Xbox 360 on your Xbox One console, you will need an Internet connection and a disc with the original game. After you insert it into the console, it will recognize the game, check its compatibility with the emulator and download its digital image from the Microsoft servers to the hard disk of the console. Remember that the disc in the drive serves as a confirmation that the game is in your collection, that is, it will not work without it.
